About Us
Welcome to Gutleber Construction
I built my first house when I was 11-years-old, a shingled-roof shed that still stands in my parents’ backyard in Little Silver.
At the time, there was a huge construction project going on down the street (they were taking one lot and putting up five new homes), and I was fascinated by the process. Every day, I’d go down to watch and end up asking a lot of questions. The workers patiently explained what they were doing and even slipped me materials.
I was Hooked!
From there, I took trade classes in high school and by my senior year, I took the carpenter’s union test, becoming the youngest apprentice in Monmouth County. (I then became the top apprentice for four years in a row.)
At age 18, I bought and rebuilt my first home, which led to many more renovations, including one in Red Bank that received a “Residential Restoration Award,” which recognizes “going above and beyond the construction call of duty.”
In 1988, I founded Gutleber Construction with the goal of delivering unrivaled craftsmanship and exceptional service, which we have been proudly doing ever since.
With a passion for and expertise in carpentry, I value the exquisite details—custom wood brackets, barreled archways, hammered copper fixtures—that will set your home renovation or custom build apart.
I believe your home should be your most valuable asset.
I am committed to ensuring that your project goes smoothly and exceeds your expectations.
Exceptional craftsmanship. High-quality materials. Honest communication.
That’s what Gutleber Construction is all about and that is our promise to you.
